About

Luminary was born from the belief that every woman who has survived trauma deserves more than survival. She deserves to come back to herself.
We are not a crisis line. We are not a government service. We are a space where women who have survived domestic violence and sexual assault can be truly seen, held, and supported toward the life they deserve. Trauma-informed. Heart-led. Built on the understanding that healing is not linear, and it is never your fault.

The Harsh Truth

  • 1 in 5 women in Australia have experienced sexual violence since the age of 15. (Source: PM&C Gender-Based Violence Report, 2024)

  • 40,087 victims of sexual assault were recorded by Australian police in 2024, the highest number ever recorded. (Source: Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2024)

  • 92% of women who experienced sexual assault did not contact police. Most suffered in silence. (Source: ABS Personal Safety Survey, 2021-22)

  • 97,800 family and domestic violence offenders were recorded by police in 2024-25, an 8% increase and the highest rate since national reporting began. (Source: Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2025)

  • 44% of women who experienced sexual assault did not seek any advice or support after the most recent incident. (Source: ABS Personal Safety Survey, 2021-22)
